Accessibility statement
The NC Disaster Recovery Hub should be usable by everyone, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control, large text or high contrast.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. This is a goal, not a certification: neither this website nor the app has been certified as fully compliant.
What we do on this website
- A “Skip to main content” link, headings, landmarks and a visible keyboard focus outline on every page.
- Strong color contrast, text that can be enlarged to 200%, and a layout that works on small screens.
- Every page in English and Spanish, and each page tells your device which language it is in.
- No time limits, no flashing content, no CAPTCHAs and no JavaScript needed.
- Pages are checked with automated tools (axe-core).
Known limits
- Automated tools cannot find every problem. This website and the app have not yet been tested by an outside accessibility expert or with every screen reader.
- Links to other websites open pages we do not control. Their accessibility may be different.
The app has its own accessibility statement: App accessibility statement.
